We're Going Private

That's right, we have decided to "privatize" our blog. Please email me at nataliejessop@gmail.com if you would like to have access, or you can leave a comment below.

Thanks!

Could it be?

All of the drooling, fevers, and long nights HAVE been for something-Aaron finally got his first tooth, and just in time for turning 9 months! Little Man declined the opportunity to document this occasion by showing his emerging chomper, but did decide to show his tongue…

Time to Celebrate

My sister Christina (who is a beautiful pregnant lady, by the way) and her husband Chad are expecting their first child on June 7th. They are having a boy, and my mother and I had the pleasure of hosting her family and friends baby shower. We rented the Marina Hills Clubhouse for the affair, and we spent the morning getting the place ready. Luckily, my sister has so many great friends that came to help set up, and everyone brought something to contribute for the meal…it was a dream! We had soups, salads, breads and desserts for the tasting, a few games for the fun of it, and lots of showering of gifts. Everybody was so generous, they got just about everything that they needed!

I love you seeter, and look forward to meeting your Little Dude!

Easters

Our ward has an early morning Easter Egg Hunt at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park each year, and since I am on the activities committee, I got to help set it up (which means that Ben did as well). So, early Saturday morning we made the trek out to the park and set up signs, food and hide Easter eggs, 650 of them! Aaron loved being outside and was very patient while we worked.

There was a great turnout, the continental breakfast was tasty and the Easter Egg Hunt was so fun! It only took minutes for all of those eggs to be claimed…crazy. Aaron doesn’t like the grass (as we found out recently), so Ben had to hold him above the ground while he picked up an Easter egg. It took him three tries, since he accidentally touched the grass the first two reaches.

We had the pleasure of going to lunch with Dave and Jenn later that day. We met at Wahoos in Aliso and enjoyed some delicious food. We then went next door for some Golden Spoon (ohhhh yum) and walked over to Barnes and Noble to peruse the latest and greatest.

Easter Sunday was nice, we just kept it simple. Aaron got a foam book with cutouts of farm animals that can handle the teething situation. He also got a new outfit, which he tolerated wearing ALL day…that’s our boy!

After church we headed to my grandparent’s home in Placentia for our traditional Easter dinner, which included the most delicious lamb roast! Aaron also thought it was tasty, he couldn’t get enough.

Holidays are such a great excuse for everyone to get together, I love them!

8 Months and Great

Aaron is 8 months old today! Here are a few of the turkey's latest pass-times:

He is teething but not producing teeth. For some reason he finds that chewing my nose eases the pain...?

He saw Dad do some Jiu-jitsu and decided he can do it on his stuffed dog.

He enjoys "reading"...

And pulling himself up on anything that is stationary (permanently or not).

He enjoys chasing his Roll-a-Rounds all over the house.

Last but not least, Aaron's favorite new passtime is feeding himself Graduate's Puffs while we eat dinner. Such a big boy!

We love our busy Little Man!!!

THE WEEKEND

Day 1: Friday started off with having our friends Becky and Brad over for dinner. Becky’s birthday was the next day, and since we could not join them at Disneyland, they settled for us making them dinner. We had grilled chicken, vegetables and some delicious potatoes that Becky brought (she insisted on bringing something). I also made, for the first time, coconut shrimp and though some of them did not look pretty, they were pretty darn tasty…I can always count on Martha for a good recipe. After putting Aaron to bed, we snacked on toffee-chocolate chip cookies and played Mario Kart on the Wii. Fun was had by all.

Day 2: Saturday was a blur. We started our day off with some exercise, cleaning, Aaron climbing the whole stair case a few times…

…and then running to Orange to pick up another excersaucer off of a nice couple from Craigslist, stopping at Babies’R’Us on the way home to look at gates for the stairs, the grocery store, and back home to get ready for the night.

Tom and Maryam picked us up around 4:30 to head out to San Berdu for Ben’s cousin David's wedding reception that evening. Traffic was unkind on the 91 so we missed the receiving line, but we were able to catch up with a lot of Ben’s extended family that he hasn’t seen for years and enjoyed watching Amy and David from a distance…we never actually got to talk to them, they were so busy and constantly surrounded by people. Hopefully David knew his cousins came…oh well. Jen and Dave were in from Vegas, it is always a pleasure to visit with them! They had two different pastas for dinner, one of which being spaghetti and meatballs, my fave. I ate more than my fair share. We stopped for some frozen yogurt and the kids all slept peacefully on the way home…

Day 3: Sunday started off just like usual: Ben leaving the house by 6:00 am to make his pre-church meetings, me trying to sleep in a little but Aaron still wanting to get up at 6:30, getting us fed and ready for church, and off to church we go. After church, we headed up to my grandparents house to celebrate my favorite brother Ryan’s 23rd birthday. We ate lots of food (of course), chased the kids around, talked and hung out…it was a good time. My mom was so cute about the centerpiece for the dinner table-my brother loves Legos and cars.

Not only did my grandma make an awesome dinner, but she also prepared a yellow cake, banana-cream pie and lemon pie for dessert. When we got home (30 minutes past Aaron’s bedtime), I fed Aaron and he decided that since he got a 20 minute cap-nap in the car, he didn’t need to go to bed…fun. He finally fell asleep around 9:30.

The weekend was super fun, don’t get me wrong, but Ben and I both woke up Monday morning feeling like we needed a weekend to recover from our weekend! That, and we needed to work out…

***My apologies, in the original post, I for some reason wrote "Scott" as the cousin getting married...I don't know why! Sorry David!

First Haircut (2/19/09)

So, Little Man woke up a couple of weeks ago with a big patch of hair missing on the right side of his head. Hmmmm, not too attractive. After contemplating the situation all day, Ben and I decided that it would be mean of us to let him look like that. Here he is before...

And here he is post-buzz (mostly).

He really did not like having his hair cut (we actually got a tear out of him), so we had to take pictures the next day, after all was forgotten!
